User interface customization

Radialix 2 offers standard options to customize the user interface. You can:

  • customize the position and size of panels;
  • customize the position of toolbars, select buttons and specify their position;
  • select, place and define width of columns in tables;
  • customize keyboard shortcuts.

The settings are saved to the profile called Desktop. You can create several profiles and switch between them using the Desktop button on the toolbar.

Placement of panels

A panel can be docked to another panel or placed separately from other panels.
To undock a panel, you need to double-click its title. Once you do this, the panel will be displayed as a separate window. To bring the panel back to its position, you need to double-click on its title and the panel jumps back to its initial position.

The user can drag a panel over the screen with the mouse. Just put the mouse cursor over the title of a panel, click and hold down the left mouse button and drag the panel over the screen. As you move the panel over the other panels, you will see the area selectors that show where the panel will be placed when you release the mouse button.

Panels4

If you put the panel onto the selector кнопка стыковки, the panel you dragged and the panel under the area selector merge into a multipage control. Page titles are displayed as tabs. Multipage controls can contain other multipage controls. For example, in the picture below you can see the Messages and Error List panels merged into a multipage control embedded into another multipage control with the Tip of the Day, Search Results and Bookmarks panel.

The panels can minimize automatically (Auto Hide button on the panel title). Once minimized, you can see only the title of the panel. To bring up the panel, you should hover the mouse pointer over the panel title. The picture below shows 3 minimized panels: Bookmarks, Error List and Search Results.

Toolbar customization

ToolbarCommands_smallThe user can customize toolbars in the Customize dialog (View>Customize). To add a new button, drag it from the Commands list and drop onto the toolbar. To remove a button, drag it from the toolbar and drop back into the Commands list. Similarly, you can change the position of the button by dragging it with the mouse. The first item in the Commands list is a separator. You can add and remove a separator in much the same way as buttons.

Table column customization

The user can change the width of table columns by dragging the separator between columns. The order, in which columns appear, can be changed by dragging a column with the mouse. As you drag a column, the position for insertion is indicated in the column title with an arrow icon.

The list of displayed columns can be customized from the context menu of the table column (Columns item). The Reset item changes the current column settings to default.
