Hi Aleksey Golovin, may I request that Radialix not to add any shell protect or any CRC checks so that we all localizers can help to translate it into another language easily?

Localize Easily......

Yes, anyone can localize Radialix.
Rdl.exe and rdlc.exe are protected, but they load resource-only DLLs according current Regional Settings.
To localize Radialix:
  • Create resource-only DLLs for rdl.exe, rdlc.exe, vcl120.bpl,… and store them into Radialix folder. Template for names of resource-only DLLs is <SrcFileName>.<WinCode>. <WinCode> - Windows language code for target language. For example for Russian the names are rdl.rus, rdlc.rus, vcl120. rus,… Fast Report forms TFrx… have not to be translated. Translation of these forms is stored in XML files in frc subfolder of Radialix. If necessary, new XML file can be added. Template for these files is frc\<WinCode>.frc.

  • Create satellite assembly for net.dll. Template for this file is <LangCode>\<SrcFileName>.resources.dll. <LangCode> - Language code (ru, ru-RU, de, de-DE, zh-CHT etc.)

I have some queries for this.

1: Refer to attached screen shot. I would like to know how I would localize that.

2: There are some garbled information in chm file.

3: The localized net.dll should placed on Radialix folder or Radialix\ru (Langcode) folder? as net.resource.dll.

4: What is the use of upd.exe and rtl120.bpl (And both of them can use the .rus file)

5: Is there any hard coded string that can be localized using .chs / .rus etc?

Thank you for bug report. This bug will be fixed in version 2.08.02.

2: There are some garbled information in chm file.

What tool do you use for localization chm file?

3: The localized net.dll should placed on Radialix folder or Radialixru (Langcode) folder? as net.resource.dll.

No, satellite assembly has to be stored into subfolder named according <LangCode>, for example: zh-CHS\net.resource.dll, zh-TW\net.resource.dll, de-DE\net.resource.dll.

4: What is the use of upd.exe and rtl120.bpl (And both of them can use the .rus file)

upd.exe is a web-update service file. It does not display any messages and has not to be localized. rtl120.bpl is a CodeGear Delphi/C++Builder runtime DLL. Localization of this file is up to you. If you'd like to localize this file, please create resource DLL using default target path.

5: Is there any hard coded string that can be localized using .chs / .rus etc?
Radialix files contain no hard-code strings which have to be translated.

Thank you.

2: Original Localizer extracted chm file using CHMDecompiler and localize the hhc and hhk files only using Passolo. (Which I followed suit for later versions)

4: So again the rtl120.bpl is using the same way as rdl.exe,rdlc.exe to localize. Thank you.

5: Can I suggest that Radialix main program files to be language neutral and add a preference dialog to switch language easily.

In this way, there is no need to provide 2 separate downloads for English & Russian and Radialix can compile all localized version into 1 installer. (Sure the custom message in Installer can be a issue, unless using Unicode Inno Setup that does not support Win NTs)

I think this way because it is troublesome for one to change regional settings and reboot for changing Radialix language purpose.

Regarding Dictionaries, it can be read from subfolder of dictionaries as apparently the title of the dictionary can be localized.
